Doctor of Science, Senior Researcher and First and Second Degree Medical Specialist in Pharmacology and Obstetrics and Gynecology, he directed around 100 research papers.

As a result of his research, novel substances called cellutrophins were isolated from human placental tissue, with notable therapeutic efficacy in various conditions; and more than twenty products were developed for the treatment of vitiligo, psoriasis and alopecia and the strengthening of the epidermal tissue; revitalizing and slowing down the aging process of the skin.

For the merits achieved, he was awarded the order “Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba”.
